However, the minute that you add a computer monitor to the laptop, bypassing the built-in display then it goes much, much faster. So, it seems like it's the LCD display that tends to slow it down. When you get any laptop, the first thing you should do is look at laptop computer cases. Whether you purchase a Compaq laptop computer or an Acer, you'll need the same kind of case. Targus makes good cases at a low price. They run around $64, such as their Targus BlackTop 17" Deluxe Laptop Case or their Platinum Blacktop 17" Standard Laptop case at a lower $44. A case tends to be made out of fake leather which is rugged and has many zippered compartments. There's no way you'll keep everything together that you buy for your laptop unless you buy a case. Once you've completed the laptop computer sale, you should then start looking for a case. As for laptop computer ratings, Acer rates high at all times. Years ago you used to be able to get parts for a computer, but now they just have you send it back within the first 3 months. If it ever needs a new part, the repair would cost more than an entire laptop would. If you want a really small size, and you want some capability running things such as Word¡ you might go for a Netbook computer. ASUS has been a good manufacturer of Netbook computer, with their popular 1000HE. It has a near-full-size keyboard that allows you to touch-type. Oftentimes the tiny little Netbooks don't allow that very well. Comparing an ASUS Netbook with an Acer laptop computer isn't even possible, though. The bigger RAM, the faster speed, the greater capabilities all mean that the laptop will provide far more power than any Netbook computer would. |
