My favorite way is to go the refurbished route. Since all electronics are modular, now-a-days, it means that they are designed with the fact that they might break down quickly. The reason they might do that is, electronics depend upon integrated circuits. They are 'grown' from silicon at a microscopic level. As they grow, the substrate has to be kept perfectly pure. If even one speck of dust is introduced into the process, it will still continue growing around that speck of dust, causing strange things to occur.
If you magnify a computer Chip such as an advanced Pentium chip, you'll see this intricate city with multiple floors. Each of those floors must be grown upon each other, one-at-a-time. Can you imagine growing a microscopic set of floors to a thing as big as New York City, yet every plumbing pipe and every electronic device in that city has to work perfectly, or it doesn't work at all. That is what an electronic device is like. So, when they put all these integrated circuits together, it might fail miserably, causing the whole thing to melt down, but generally it doesn't. However, if it seems to work fine, it still might break down within the first few hours or days. It's called 'burn-in' time. After an electronic gadget has gone about a month, it probably will keep going for many years. That's the idea of an electronic device. So, when they come off the production run, they're not even plugged in to see if they work. They're just shipped off. If you buy laptop computer, they don't ever check those laptop computers before they send them out. They just don't have time to do that. You are the tester. You plug it in. Something doesn't work, so you ship it back, saying "Such and Such is wrong with it". They then become refurbished laptop computers. That means that they now know that something is wrong with this one. They send it to a technician, he quickly tells which BIG BOARD is the problem, and he changes out the big part. No small parts are fixed any more. They just have 'The Motherboard" or "The LCD Screen" or "The small board where you press the buttons". That's it. They swap out that one thing, turn it on, it's new. So, you actually have a better chance that that computer will actually work long periods of time. Why; because they'll put it through a lot of tests afterwards. No new computer gets put through tests EXCEPT for reconditioned computers. Therefore, the best laptop computer is oftentimes the reconditioned laptop computer. If you want to buy used laptop computer then you wouldn't have any warranty to rely upon; however, with a reconditioned computer, you get the same kind of warranty that you'd get if you bought a new computer. One you've got the laptop, you'll need to work. Everybody always buys a laptop, and then realizes how hard they are to work with unless you have a proper laptop computer table. Also, when they go to bring their laptop to work, they realize that they can't just sit the laptop on the front seat of their car. If you did that, in one day the computer would be destroyed. Direct sun through the window of a car will kill any electronics. So, you need to purchase laptop computer bags. Computer bags are sort of like a purse or valise. It makes it look like you're not carrying a laptop computer. With laptop computers being at least $350, you can't just have them stolen off your hand as you're walking to your car.
