Compaq Presario Computers - Are They Listening To Our Needs?Compaq has been around a very long time; they're noted for being low-priced and easy to purchase, as they're usually available in the Circuit City kind of stores. A Compaq laptop computer can be found at their website at Compaq.com Just click on 'Learn and Shop' to find out more about their laptops, then click on the 'Laptop PCs' section. Besides being able to be found on Amazon.com, they can also be found at Best Buy or Buy.com. Their Presario series has always been a big seller. The Compaq Presario CQ61-410US is a 15.6 inch laptop that goes for $414.99. Used, you can get them for $404.99. I think that computer companies are making too many models with too few differences between the features. Every computer company has seventeen models, all of which have no distinguishing characteristics. It's like they've all lost their path all-at-once.
Maybe it's because people all went down the Netbook corridor, wanting a computer that lasted longer on battery packs than laptops do. We want a laptop that can last for 20 hours, not one that goes for 2 hours. They seem to be trying a bit to go in that direction, but they're sure taking their time doing it. The ASUS computer seems to be the closest to almost being there. All they'd need to do is combine their incredible 1000HE with the Pixel Qi low-power LCD monitor. Where are they? We were all waiting for such a thing to come out, and ASUS was noticeably not present at the shows in December. What's Pixel Qi doing? These companies should be pouring low power laptops from their assembly lines now that are touting low power LCD screens, but they're not. They're still giving us the same old laptops we didn't want last year at greatly lowered prices. So what? We didn't want them last year because we need them to last 20 hours, not 2 hours. If you check laptop computer ratings, a Toshiba laptop computer always has high ratings, even though people are strapped for cash right now. When you check their reviews, you find that people like Toshiba, and stay with them many years, being very loyal to the name because Toshiba has always been known as the company which builds computers that will last. When you're looking for laptop computer deals, consider buying a Toshiba. They break down less than other computers, in my opinion; even after ten years, my old Toshiba Satellite laptop is still working. If you can't afford full-price for a laptop, consider buying one from a laptop computer sale. They tend to have sales on laptops when last year's model is coming to an end. Who cares? It's still a good computer. They change models every year, and oftentimes had the best design LAST year. Why does a computer company think they have to come up with a "new-and-improved" model when last year's model was really good? It's like the people in a company don't even listen to what's good. They overshoot every time. A good example is the ASUS EEE 1000HE. They should be continuing that model by making it last even longer on battery time. They could do it easily. They could add the Pixel Qi screen to it. That one thing would make it last 20 hours, maybe more, and at the same time you could use it outdoors in the sun, or in a room with lots of glare without having any problems. So, why would I buy a Compaq laptop computer? Are they listening to my needs? Certainly Compaq's computers aren't running 10 and 1/2 hours on a single charge. If you look on-line you'll see comments like, "My computer battery on my Compaq lasts 2 hours, and that's with light usage". What good is a laptop if it lasts less than 2 hours on a battery? |
