Purchasing Laptop Computer CasesIf you were to ask me, I'd say that Toshiba is the best. I bought a Toshiba back in the year 2000 because the IS department at the hospital had said they're "Built like a Brick ***". Well, they were right. It's still working, even though I' had to buy a new cheap battery pack when the first one wouldn't give me much more than a half-hour of charge. And, the first thing I did when I bought it was I looked around for laptop computer cases. A case will, not only, keep your laptop in tip-top shape, but it'll keep all the accessories together. In my case I have an SCSI card because I wanted to hitch an external CD writer to it at the time and that was the best that they had. It was a Plextor drive. Well, now-a-days there are Acers, and Dells, and Compaq, and so many other laptop manufacturers. Dell was there back then; but Dells were always so expensive.
There are now all sorts of things you can get for your laptop such as laptop computer stands, which make it easy for you to adjust the proper height and use your laptop at home in a very convenient fashion. They also have what are called laptop computer sleeves, which are a zippered pouch for carrying your laptop accessories such as an AC adapter, extra batteries, personal items and things like that. Case Logic has a 13.3" one for $16, so they're very inexpensive. Laptop computer bags are sort of like a laptop computer case; but they look more like purses or a valise. They're a way to carry a laptop but not advertise to the thieves, "Hey, why don't you grab this, it's a laptop computer!" Laptop computer cases can range everywhere from very inexpensive nylon Cordura ones to plastic-leather kinds which tend to have lots of pockets, zippers, slots, places for pens and pouches for cell phones. They're always handy; but can be quite heavy because you tend to fill them to the brim. The more zippered pockets there are, the more you're going to fill those pockets. If you purchase a portable laptop printer/scanner, plus a second battery, plus the charger, you really do have a little portable office that you can hold in your hand; but it will also feel like you're lifting an office, too. The thing to do is type 'laptop computer cases' into Google and start looking to see what they look like. If you use the 'Images' tab, you will be able to view all the different kinds that they have. You can purchase one from the manufacturer, of course, and in that case they sometimes are perfectly designed to fit only that computer and no others. Or, they're designed for a particular line of laptops from a manufacturer. However, there are also the strange ones such as the custom made AB Sutton Leather MacBook Air Case which sports a monogram. |
