Laptop Computer Sales Will Increase 20% This YearLaptop computer sales are said to increase by 20% in the upcoming year. That's kind of hopeful; but then again it sort of is like saying, "We sold none last year, and this year we're going to do 20% better!" 20% of nothing is nothing. Netbooks are the ones which did something last year. Laptops were superceded by them, and the only reason that laptops kept up at all was because they started becoming so close to the prices of Netbooks that people decided on laptops, instead. That wasn't good for the laptop manufacturers.
Even Netbooks are sitting there waiting for something to happen, though. I have a soft spot for Toshiba computers, though. I bought a Satellite laptop back around 2000, and it's still going strong. All I've had to do is buy a new battery. Lithium-ion batteries are notorious for going bad if you don't constantly keep them charged. They drop down below a certain threshold value and then they are way too low resistance when you plug the battery in to the charger. Far too much current flows, initially, and it damages the cell. Besides that, though, Toshiba has constantly had a thousand dollar laptop that out-performs all other computers. A Toshiba laptop computer for $1000 right now would be the Toshiba Tecra M10-s3454 - Core 2 Duo P8700. However, there are also way cheaper lapotops such as their $350 Mini NB305-N310 which has an Intel N450 1.66 GHz and a 5400 RPM Serial ATA drive which gets four stars on Amazon with 38 customer reviews. They are always a big seller. A laptop computer sale can also be a good way of getting cheap laptops. They tend to do that when a company is coming out with a new model. Some computer models have been so great, such as the ASUS EEE 1000HE, that even old computers a couple years old can be almost the same price as a new Netbook. Test it yourself. Go to Amazon.com and look up the 1000HE. It's still $385.53, and even the cheapest used one is $267.99. That's still an amazing price for a used laptop computer, though. As far as laptop computer deals go, I like Amazon. You can usually return the product for whatever reason as long as you return it within 30 days, which is pretty amazing. The EEE PC has come out with a new version since the 1000HE Netbook called the 1005HA. It has an astounding 10.5 hour battery life. The list price is $358, but it can be sometimes bought for as little as $299.00, used. Just go to Google and type 'laptop computer sales' to see what there are. Always remember to jump past the first five entries. Since those are paid entries, they're generally false ones anyways. Be sure to check out coupons, too. Sometimes you can get some really good deals by using consumer coupons. When you go to the site, particularly if it's a brand name such as Dell, you enter that coupon number into the gadget when you purchase the product. Make sure that the coupon hasn't expired, though. Also, you might check to see if there are any coupons on-line for the product that you're interested in buying before you buy it. That might bring the price down below what you would have paid if you do that. That's one way that laptop computer sales can help you. |
